The user can change the default behavior of automatically saving each report and instead be prompted upon closing a report as to whether you want to save it as a PDF. It is a good idea to save PDF reports as a record of the data at the time it was collected. Future software versions may alter the appearance of the report when viewed or if the data is re-analyzed. To change from auto-saving each trial report to being prompted to select which report to save, go into Additional Tools Menu>Options. Select “Prompt before saving reports”.

We recently received a request to be able to search evaluations by veterinarian (in a multi-vet practice). As we always try our best to incorporate user requests, this will be incorporated into an upcoming version of Lameness Locator. However, in the interim, there is a fairly easy work around to allow you similar functionality using stable management. Under Manage Stables, create a stable name using each of the veterinarians’ names in the practice. Then, add horses that the veterinarian manages to that “stable”. Lameness Locator® includes an automated outlier removal algorithm for head movement asymmetry; however, pelvic movement outliers are currently not removed. This is because significant hind limb outliers are quite uncommon, given the lower natural stride to stride variability of pelvic movement. But occasionally a horse will do something odd, such as stumble or kick out. The program stride selection (which is based on the median stride rate), may still include this/these errant strides in the analysis if they are of the same stride rate as other strides, thus including a potential hind limb outlier. Typically, a single outlier...
FAQ: How do I turn my stride selection back on?

Easy. You just go to "Options" and "Allow manual stride selection". Step 1: Go to "Additional Tools" (upper right corner) and select "Options" Step 2: Check the first option, "Allow manual stride selection" Step 3: Close window. You can then go back to that trial and select “perform new analysis“ on the right hand side of the highlighted trial. It will then provide the same stride selection slider bar in the first step of the analysis that was available in previous versions of LL. To increase selection, drag slider bar to the right. If you want to turn Automated Stride Selection back...
